Within You by Becca Wilk

Becca Wilk works predominantly in an  intuitive way, starting with automatic drawings to uncover concepts, feelings and imagery. She then refines the idea, before carving and pressing each Lino print by hand. Wilk’s main inspiration comes from a deep respect for all of nature, which is reflected not only in her choice of subject but also with the use of sustainable papers, natural materials and non-toxic inks. She hopes her art can create a moment for reflection and help to remind us of our interconnectedness with the natural world.

Becca Wilk is a multidisciplinary artist, currently focused on printmaking. Working from her plant-filled home studio in South Shields, her handmade prints celebrate the sacredness of nature. Recurring subjects are women, natural elements and the living earth. Alongside private commissions, Wilk has sold artwork internationally since 2020. She exhibited her original prints for the first time in 2023 in group exhibitions at Ferens Art Gallery, Hull, and Fronteer Gallery, Sheffield.
