  • Artist Statement

    Andrea studied at Edinburgh College of Art where she had wonderful classical training in observational drawing. She's passionate about nature and chooses specific locations that inspire her. She is a slow meditative painter putting her in touch with the healing spirit she inherited from the medics in her family.

    .

    Andrea wants her work to help people find an inner sense of peace and connection with nature's energy. Her ambition is to ease the inner wounds we suffer, through inducing calm and peaceful reflection.

    .

    Finding the meaning and the link between the inner and the outer world is key to everything which inspires her. Andrea hopes to encourage people to think about the survival of our planet by inspiring them to value nature. Water is the most important compound we have without it no living thing can survive.  Andrea wants to inspire people to care for our planet.

  • Artist Bio

    At Edinburgh College of Art, Andrea was trained by Elizabeth Blackadder. She had a classical training in life drawing, costume life drawing and anatomy. Finding the meaning and the link between the inner and the outer world is key to everything which inspires her. Without this there is nothing to communicate that will touch other people's spirit.

    Andrea finds that interpreting nature is the best vehicle for her to achieve this. Her mission explores the emotional symbolism of her subject matter. Andrea wants to help people find an inner sense of peace and connection with nature's energy.

    She wants raise people's awareness of the plight of our environment to inspire people to take responsibility to care for nature. Andrea exhibits in UK, Europe and USA. Some years ago she won a solo exhibition on H2O in London. She is currently preparing for an exhibition called 'Changing Tides' in 2024.
