ECOFeminism Festival, The Art Pavilion, London from 7-17 Oct 2021!



ART from HEART proudly presents the ECOFeminism Festival addressing the nature-women connection in line with today’s concerns about climate change, women empowerment, and gender inequality. The Festival is inspired by the Ecofeminism movement from the 70s, which has continuing relevance in a time of ecological crisis.


The ECOFeminism Festival runs from the 7-17 Oct 2021 and encompasses the Exhibition 'Utopia' & events programme, the ECOFeminism Conference and the ECOFeminism Short Film Festival.


The Exhibition Utopia at The Art Pavilion 7-17 Oct, will showcase the various theme interpretations through the work of 70 UK and International exhibiting artists working across multiple disciplines. The Exhibition is accompanied by a programme of events including workshops and performances.


The ECOFeminism Conference at the Ecology Pavilion on Sat 9th Oct, 3-7 pm, will discuss the evolution, misconceptions & intersectionality of ECOFeminism throughout history until today. Keynote speakers include Prof. Alicia Puleo, feminist philosopher and writer; recognized as one of the most relevant thinkers on Ecofeminism today with essays published worldwide. Adenike Oladosu, Ecofeminist, Ecoreporter, multi-award winner climate justice activist, recipient of the Ambassador of Conscience Award from Amnesty International Nigeria & founder of I Lead Climate. Rashini Thamotheram, Campaign Projects Coordinator from WEN (Women's Environmental Network), a charity working on issues that connect gender, health and the environment. Roshini is an outdoor educator, activist with marginalised groups, and passionate about social justoce. She recently completed an MA in Race, Media & Social Justice at Goldsmiths University.


The ECOFeminism Short Film Festival at Genesis Cinema, Screen 2, Sat 16th Oct, 6-8.30 pm explores the ECOFeminism theme in the categories of Experimental, Animation, Fiction & Documentary by 16 UK and International Filmmakers. Screening at the famed Genesis Cinema, home to the legendary English comic actor, filmmaker, and composer, Charlie Chaplin.
